Offentligt foredrag: The “King” of Chinese Comedy - Stephen Chow
When people talk about Chinese movies, I guess Jackie Chan would be the first name that jumped out from their minds. To most of the Greenlandic or European people, Jackie Chan is also probably the only name they know about Chinese movie, while Stephen Chow would be a rather strange name for the people here. Stephen Chow is an actor, director and screenwriter, and he is known as the “king” of Comedy in China, and he is the box-office record holder of Chinese movie. I’m not saying Stephen Chow is “bigger” than Jackie Chan, but Stephen Chow is more a cultural icon than Jackie Chan in China, especially for the people born after the 80s and 90s. He is a master of a kind of humor called- Mo lei tau. I hope this lecture would let the people here know more about Stephen Chow, his Mo Lei Tau humor, and of course, more about Chinese movies besides just Jackie Chan.
